WET VACUUMING

Do not use to vacuum
WARNING
flammable liquids, gases, or
explosive dusts, like gasoline or other
fuels, lighter fluid, varnish, polyurethane
coatings, cleaners, oil-based paints, natural
gas, hydrogen, coal dust, magnesium dust,
grain dust, or gun powder. Electric motors
create sparks, which may ignite the dust or
fumes.
Two VAC012 filter cartridges must be installed
for wet vacuuming.
Before wet vacuuming, run the vacuum in the
PULSE-CLEAN mode.
Before wet vacuuming, empty the canister to
prevent encrustation of the canister.
Do not use a paper (VAC013) or plastic bag
(VAC023) when wet vacuuming. If a bag is to
be used when vacuuming wet materials, a
heavy-duty bag (VAC022) must be used.
To reduce the risk of
WARNING
electric shock, use only
VAC012 filters when wet vacuuming. Failure
to use the VAC012 filters may allow water to
reach electrical components.
• The VAC019 HEPA filters should not be
used when wet vacuum because they will
be damaged.
• Do not activate the PULSE-CLEAN™ mode
when the contents of the vacuum cleaner
are wet.
• The unit is equipped with water level
sensors. The unit switches off when the
maximum filling height is reached. The unit
still has power, but will not operate. The unit
must be switched off and empted before it
can be switched on again.
• When the unit is shut off, some water may
flow out of the hose.
• To prevent siphoning or spillage, lift the
suction hose out of the liquid before draining
the vacuum cleaner.
• Before opening and emptying, move the
switch to the OFF position.
• Before opening and emptying, always
disconnect the vacuum cord from the power
supply.
• In order to avoid mildew, after wet
vacuuming, remove the VAC022 bag (if one
is installed) and remove both VAC012 filter
cartridges and allow them to dry thoroughly.
Dry the filter canister and control unit
thoroughly so that dust cannot adhere to
moist parts.
• Use a dry VAC012 filter for subsequent dry
vacuuming. We suggest purchasing extra
filter cartridges when frequently alternating
between wet and dry vacuuming and swap
them out as appropriate.
Clean the canister and accessories with water.
Wipe the top section with a moist cloth.
WATER-LEVEL SENSOR MAINTENANCE
Clean the water level sensors occasionally:
See Figure 8.
1. Unlock the canister latches and remove the
control unit.
2. Clean the water level sensors with a soft
cloth.
3. Reattach the control unit again
4. Lock the canister latches.
