connect
your
DSL
modem
and
multiple
phone
devices
(example,
a
p hone
and
fax
machine)
into
one
jack,
you
will
need
a
f ilter
and
additional
2-‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
a dapter
to
c omplete
your
setup.
NOTE:
If
y ou
previously
used
a
d ial-‐ -‐ -‐ u p
c onnection,
but
are
installing
DSL
for
the
first
time,
use
these
instructions.
NOTE:
The
2-‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
a dapter
plugs
directly
into
the
phone
jack.
Do
not
place
a
f ilter
between
the
wall
jack
and
the
2-‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
adapter.
This
will
interfere
with
your
DSL
service.
To
c onnect
your
DSL
modem
and
multiple
phone
devices
on
o ne
phone
jack:
1.
P lug
your
DSL
modem
into
one
2-‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
j ack
(do
not
place
a
f ilter
on
t his
jack).
2.
P lug
a
f ilter
on
t he
jack
that
will
connect
your
phone
devices.
3.
P lug
a
2 -‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
o r
3 -‐ -‐ -‐ f or-‐ -‐ -‐ 1
a dapter
into
the
filter
you
added
in
s tep
2.
4.
P lug
your
phone
devices
to
t he
adapter
you
added
in
s tep
3.
When
you
are
sure
that
all
o f
y our
DSL
filters
are
installed
correctly,
proceed
to
S tep
2
–
I nstall
DSL
hardware.
