PPE category II:
Intended use: This garment is suitable to offer protection against
hardware, lying on floor, as well as prevent chronically disease (e.g.
bursitis or cartilage-defect). Already existing disease cannot be cured
by wearing this knee-protection, but hurtful effects can be limited.
Important premise for the attainment of this aim is the combination of
knee-protection with proper work-wear, equipped with appropriated
kneepad-pockets which are made for this kind of purpose.
Furthermore this garment performance against skin damage caused
by solar radiation in the way to provide UV-A and UV-B sun
protection. Only covered areas of the body are protected by the
clothing. The measured UPF (UV Protection Factor) is > 50 and thus
offers a very high level of protection. The protection offered by this
PPE can be reduced by continuous use, in the case of expanding or
in wet condition.
This PPE offers no protection from:
- chemical hazards
- caught-in hazards in presence of moving parts
- mechanical hazards (protection can be provided in combination
with knee-pad article no. 8400)
- thermal hazards
- fire crossing and extinguishing hazards
- all hazards, different from the above specified
Identification and selection: The selection of suitable garments
must be made, based on the specific workplace requirements, the
type of hazards and the relevant environmental conditions. The
employer is responsible for the identification and selection of the
suitable and adequate PPE. Therefore, it is opportune to verify the
suitability of this garment to your requirements before use.
Field of application, uses & risk assessment: It is emphasised,
that the actual application conditions can not be simulated and it is
therefore the sole decision of the user whether the garment is suitable
for the intended application or not. The manufacturer is not
responsible for improper use of the product. Before the garment is put
into service, an assessment of the residual risk should be taken in
order to determine whether the garment is fit for the intended use.
