Task

Power-on the telescope

Scroll through the

telescope menu system

to the GPS ON/OFF utility,

and turn GPS OFF.

Hand Controller Message Displayed Note

Initializing

CPC Ready

Press ENTER to begin alignment.

UTILITIES

GPS ON/OFF

Press ENTER to

Turn GPS on

Connect the 12v battery cable

to the telescope power socket.

Turn the power switch ON.

Once the controller says "Press

ENTER to begin alignment"

you need to divert away from

the proposed alignment

process and turn the GPS

function off (if you don't the

telescope may automatically

choose the wrong date and

time and frustration will

result).

(Do not press ENTER at this

stage.)

Press the MENU button, which

is also button 3.

Once you have pressed the

MENU/3 button you may

immediately land on the

UTILITIES option or perhaps

some other option. Use the

Up 6/Down 9 buttons to scroll

through the options until

UTILITIES is displayed. Once

Utilities is displayed, press the

ENTER button to enter the

Utilities area.

If you don't immediately land

on the GPS ON/OFF option,

use the Up 6/Down 9 buttons

to scroll through the options

until GPS ON/OFF is displayed.

Press ENTER to enter the GPS

area.

If the hand controller display

reads "Press ENTER to Turn

GPS on" it means the GPS is

already turned off. . This is

prefect. It means you can just

exit this menu area by pressing

the UNDO button. Press the

UNDO button a couple of

times to get back to the CPC

READY screen.
