1 Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Avantes AvaLight-Hal-CAL-Mini. This light source will provide

outstanding performance. To get the best of its performance it perfectly matches all Avantes

AvaSpec spectrometers.

The AvaLight-HAL-CAL-MINI series is a smaller version of the AvaLight-HAL-CAL series.

The AvaLight-HAL-CAL-Mini works from visible light to near infrared. It's a compact, stabilized

halogen light source. The new AvaLight-HAL-CAL-Mini has a new feature called the Disable function.

With the Disable function the bulb is turned off to safe power and lifetime.

Changing of the bulb

Since the light source is calibrated, the bulb cannot be exchanged by the user. Please contact

Avantes to have the bulb exchanged a recalibrated.

N.B. The AvaLight-HAL-CAL-MINI cannot be used as a light source for standard

reflection/absorption spectroscopy.

To perform an absolute irradiance calibration with AvaSoft 8 IRRAD we refer you to the AVASOFT 8

Manual.

Note: DO NOT LEAVE THE COSINE CORRECTOR IN THE LAMP AND MEASURE WITH THE BARE

FIBER, SINCE THOSE RESULTS ARE INVALID.
