Color Capability for Document Imaging
Virtually all production scanners, defined as those used in daily, mainstream imaging
applications, are simple binary, black and white scanners. For purposes of retrieval,
viewing and printing, 200 or 300 dpi TIFF images are perfectly suitable for traditional
document image management applications. However, as more and more applications are
