9 Operating systems and virtualization

The Dell PowerEdge M820 supports a wide range of industry-standard operating systems and

virtualization software.

RHEL 5.7 is the minimum supported version. Current drop in box option is RHEL 5.8.

RHEL 6.1 is the minimum supported version. Current factory install is RHEL 6.3.

Support of the operating systems listed in Table 18 is limited to a virtual environment as a guest

operating system. Please contact the software vendor for additional support or questions about

running the operating system in a virtualized environment.
