CHANGING THE SEAL SET
Before the seal set can be replaced, the actuator must be
removed from the valve body and the control cone must be
removed.
→
Remove the actuator (see "Removing the actuator" on page 3)
→
Remove the control cone (see "Removing control cone" on page
4).
Replacing packing gland:
PEEK spindle guide (series production status up to April 2012)
→
Unscrew the spindle guide with the aid of the installation wrench
and an open-end wrench.
VA spindle guide SP10 / SP14
(Series production status since April 2012)
→
Unscrew spindle guide using a modified socket wrench
open-end wrench.
VA spindle guide SP22
→
Unscrew the VA spindle guide with the aid of 2 open-end wrenches.
The installation wrench or modified socket wrench is

WARNING!
Risk of injury from parts jumping out!
When the spindle opening is exposed, the individual parts of the
packing gland are pressed out at an undefined speed when the
pilot air ports is pressurized.
▶ Before pressurizing with control air, safeguard the ambient area
of the discharge opening (e.g. place spindle on a firm base).

Screw spindle guide back in using the installation tool. Observe
torque (see "Tab. 2: Tightening torques of spindle" on page 7).

Install control cone (see "Installing control cone" on page 4).
→
Install the actuator (see "Installing the actuator" on page 8).

Press out packing gland. To do this, pressurize the control air con-
nection indicated in the following table with 6 - 8 bar:

Danger if incorrect lubricants used!
The supplied lubricant is not suitable for oxygen and analysis
applications.
▶ Use only the lubricants authorized for the appropriate application.

Grease the individual parts of the new packing gland with
lubricant. The supplied lubricant can be used, provided it is
suitable for the appropriate application.
→
Connect the individual parts to the spindle in the specified
direction and sequence.
→
Push packing gland into the packing gland tube.
→
Grease thread of the spindle guide with Klüber paste UH1
96-402 or another suitable lubricant.
