2-11. Putting On The Respirator

Do not enter a hazardous

area until you are sure the

respirator equipment is cor-

rectly assembled, working

properly, and properly worn.

Leave the contaminated area

immediately if the Danger

light goes On, the alarm

sounds, or the blower vi-

brates. Do not remove the

equipment until you are in a

safe area.

See Parts List in Section 4 for

optional belt extension.

Place blower assembly against

lower back with hose extending up-

wards. Slide straps over shoulders

and fasten belt around waist. Ad-

just straps and belt so unit rests

comfortably against lower back.

Put on helmet and adjust helmet so

helmet fits snugly on head. Tighten

hood drawstring to establish a tight

seal around head.
