Trouble Shooting
Issue
A. Water clear when drawn;
turns red upon standing (stain
producing)
B. Water red when
drawn from tap
C. Excessive pressure
loss through filter
D. Milky or bubbly water
(appears to contain small
bubbles)
E. Unit fails to initiate a
regeneration cycle
F. Low water pressure
G. Filter media in drain line
H. Valve continuously cycles
I. Flow to drain continuously
Possible Cause
1. Insufficient air drawn by the air injector
2. Bypass open or leaking
3. Filter bed overloaded with precipitated iron
due to insufficient backwash
4. Presence of manganese or tannins
5. Flow rate excessive for model
6. Check valve located between air injector
and pressure tank, disrupting water flow
7. Pumping cycle too short
1. Filter bed overloaded with
precipitated iron due to insufficient
backwash flow rate
2. Filter bed overloaded with
precipitated iron due to insufficient
backwash
3. Air injector drawing too much air
causing early precipitation of iron
4. Air injector installed too far from
pressure tank or pressure tank located too far
from filter tank
5. Solenoid valve malfunction or inadequate
supply system pressure/flow rate
1. Filter bed overloaded with precipitated iron.
2. Control inlet/outlet valve(s) not fully open
3. Sand, silt or mud collecting in filter bed
4. Filter bed not properly classified
1. Excess Air injector air draw
2. Excess gases in water (carbon
dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, methane)
1. No power supply
2. Defective circuit board
3. Power failure
1. Iron or scale build up in line feeding unit
2. Iron build up inside valve or tank
3. Inlet of control plugged due to foreign
material
1. Air in water system
2. Incorrect drain line flow control (DLFC)
button
1. Defective position sensor PCB
1. Valve settings incorrect
2. Foreign material in control valve
3. Internal leak
Possible Solution
Check air injector adjustment. If unable to adjust
for long enough draw, check pumping rate.
Close bypass and/or repair as necessary.
Increase backwash frequency. Upon correction of
problem, manually backwash until backwash water
starts to clear. In more severe iron-fouling cases, bed
may chemical cleaning - contact dealer.
Recheck water analysis
Reread "Facts to Remember While
Planning Your Installation
Relocate check valve
Lengthen pump cycle time
a. Recheck well pumping rate and repair or replace as
required
b. Check for obstructions or kink in drain line
c. For improper drain line flow controller, see specs.
Upon correction of this problem, if
manually backwashing does not clear bed of iron, filter
bed may need chemical cleaning - contact dealer.

Reduce Air injector air draw time
Contact dealer for proper location of
Air injector and pressure tank
Replace solenoid valve, check specs for
proper pressure/flow rates
See problem above
Open valves
Check well for these conditions
Manually backwash to reclassify
Check adjustment for duration of draw in
excess of 1/3 pumping cycle
May require draining of water system or
installation of air relief control - contact
dealer
Check electrical service, fuse, etc.
Replace faulty parts
Reset time of day
Clean pipes
Clean control and add resin cleaner to clean bed.
contact your dealer for instructions
Remove piston and clean control valve
Check well system for proper air eliminator control
Check for proper flow rate
Replace faulty parts
Check valve settings
Clean control
Replace seals, spacers, and piston assembly
