q Insert the SmartMedia memory card and
slide the power switch to turn on the
camera. Set the mode dial to [SET].
The setup menu will be displayed.

w Press the ▼ or ▲ button to select
[FORMAT] and press the ENTER
button.
e Press the shutter release button.
The "FORMATTING" message is displayed
while the camera is formatting the SmartMedia
memory card.
When formatting is completed, the set menu will
reappear. Turn the mode dial to choose
another mode.
• A SmartMedia memory card with a write protect pad attached to it cannot
