Troubleshooting

If you experience any of the following difficulties while using your Network Walkman, use this
troubleshooting guide to help you to remedy the problem prior to consult a Sony dealer. Should
any problem persist, consult your nearest Sony dealer. If a problem occurs while connected to
your computer, also refer to "Troubleshooting" in the online help of the supplied software.

To reset the player

If your Network Walkman does not operate normally, or if there is no sound, even after checking
the troubleshooting guide below, remove the battery and re-insert it.

What happened?

On operating

Cause/Remedy
• The volume level is set to zero.
c Turn the volume up (page 14).
• The headphone jack is not connected properly.
c Connect the headphone jack properly (page 14).
• The headphone plug is dirty.
c Clean the headphone plug with a soft dry cloth.
• No audio files are stored in the memory.
c If "NO DATA" is displayed, transfer audio file(s) from the
computer.
• The GROUP/HOLD switch is set to HOLD.
c Set the GROUP/HOLD switch to

c Leave your Network Walkman aside for a few hours.
• The remaining battery power is insufficient.
