Language Quick Reference Booklet
This booklet provides instructions on using a language other than English on your BlackBerry Wireless
Handheld.
Load languages on your handheld
Use the Application Loader tool to load languages onto your handheld. You can load more than one
language onto your handheld at a time.
Note: English is always loaded on your handheld.
1. Connect your handheld to your computer.
2. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
3. Double-click the Application Loader icon. The Application Loader Wizard window appears.
4. Click Next. The Handheld Application Selection window appears.
5. In the Application Name section, select the check box beside the language that you want to load
onto your handheld.
6. Click Next. The Summary screen appears.
7. Click Finish.
Select a language on your handheld
After you load one or more languages onto your handheld, you can change the language in which your
handheld operates.
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
2. Click Localization. The Localization screen appears.
3. In the Locale field, press the Space key until the preferred language appears.
4. Click the trackwheel. A menu appears.
5. Click Save. The handheld operates in the language that you selected.

Set the date and time

You can change the time zone and the date and time format on your handheld.
Note: If you change the time zone, your handheld adjusts the time automatically.
1. On the Home screen, click the Options icon. The Options screen appears.
2. Click Date/Time. The Date/Time screen appears.
3. In the following fields, press the Space key until the preferred option appears:

Set your time zone.

Select a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.
