If the VPD alpha characters are entered in lower case, they will be automatically changed to upper case before writing to the fields.

After the update is completed, the user will get the options to restart the IMM and reboot the system

Important Note: The asset tag field does require that you do both so select B to activate the new value.

It's also critical to update the Lenovo system VPD as FOD keys also need to be reinstalled.

Once the server comes back to the Blue Menu, verify that the Asset Tag has been updated correctly. The user can select option 4 again

from the Main Menu to re-scan the VPD fields. If the fields are correct, press N to cancel and return to the main menu. Now you can

move on to updating the firmware.
