Thank   y ou   f or   p urchasing   a   D MC   c ontroller!     T he   D MC-­‐3XL   G en2   a nd   D MC-­‐4   G en2   a re   s uper-­‐compact   M IDI  
controllers   d esigned   t o   h elp   y ou   g et   t he   m ost   o ut   o f   y our   e xisting   e quipment.     T he   D MC   o ffers   a   c omprehensive  
setup   m ode   t hat   e nables   y ou   t o   c ontrol   m any   d ifferent   t ypes   o f   M IDI   d evices.     T hroughout   t his   m anual,   w e   w ill  
refer   t o   t he   D MC-­‐3XL   G en2   a nd   t he   D MC-­‐4   G en2   i nterchangeably   a s   " DMC."     T he   c ontrollers   a re   i dentical   o ther  
than   t he   e nclosure   s ize   a nd   t he   e xtra   b utton   o n   t he   D MC-­‐4   G en2.  
 
To   c onnect   y our   D MC   t o   y our   M IDI   d evice,   y ou'll   n eed   a   s tandard   5 -­‐pin   M IDI   c able.     T hese   a re   a vailable   f rom  
Disaster   A rea   D esigns   a nd   f rom   m any   o nline   a nd   r etail   s hops.     Y ou   w ill   a lso   n eed   a   9 V   p ower   s upply   c apable   o f  
supplying   6 4mA.  
 
Connect   t he   9 V   p ower   s upply   t o   t he   D MC,   a nd   c onnect   t he   M IDI   c able   f rom   t he   D MCMIDI   p ort   t o   t he   M IDI   i nput  
of   t he   d evice   t hat   y ou   w ould   l ike   t o   c ontrol.     T he   D MC   m ay   a lso   b e   p owered   b y   i ts   U SB   p ort,   a lthough   y ou   m ay  
experience   n oise   o r   o ther   i nterference   w hen   u sing   t his   c onnection   i n   c ombination   w ith   t he   M IDI   p ort.  
 
The   E xpression   I nput   r equires   a   T RS   e xpression   i nput,   S leeve   =   G ND,   R ing   =   5 V,   T ip   =   0 -­‐5V   s ignal.     I f   u sed   w ith   a  
footswitch,   p lease   u se   a n   S PST   M omentary   f ootswitch,   n ormally   o pen.     T he   D isaster   A rea   D FS-­‐1   o r   M icro   T ap   i s  
 
an   e xcellent   c hoice.

Mainstage,   L ogic,   a nd   o ther   a udio   a pplications   /   D AWs.     I f   t he   D MC   i s   c onnected   t o   a   h ost   a s   a   M IDI   d evice,   a ny  
commands   s ent   t o   t he   D isaster   M IDI   i nterface   f rom   t he   c omputer   o r   i Pad   w ill   b e   t ransmitted   t o   t he   M IDI   o utput  
on   t he   D MC.     T his   m eans   y ou   c an   s end   m essages,   s ync,   c lock,   o r   o ther   d ata   f rom   y our   c omputer   t o   y our   M IDI  
devices   u sing   t he   D MC   a s   a   U SB   i nterface.     P lease   v isit   o ur   w ebsite   f or   t ips   o n   u pdating   y our   S trymon   d evice
