IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Basic safety precautions should always be taken when using electrical

appliances, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before use.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or product in

water or any liquid. Make sure all electrical connections are clean and dry.

4. This coffee maker is not intended for use by children. Close supervision is

necessary when the coffee maker is in use near children.

5. Unplug coffee maker from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow

unit to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before

cleaning.

6. Do not operate this appliance when the power cord or the plug is damaged,

or if it malfunctions, is dropped or has been damaged in any manner.

Return the appliance to an authorized service station for examination,

repair, or electrical/mechanical adjustment.

7. Do not use attachments or accessories other than those supplied by the

manufacturer. Using incompatible parts can create a hazard.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table and counter, or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place the coffee maker on or near a gas or electrical burner, or in a

heated oven.

11. Do not use this appliance for other than intended use.

12. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during brewing cycle.

13. The carafe is designed for use with this coffee maker. It must never be used

on a range or stovetop.

14. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.

15. Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.

16. Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive

material.

17. Do not let all of the liquid evaporate in the carafe when the coffee maker is

on or is still warm.
