• DO NOT short-circuit the battery pack. Make sure connections
do not contact metal objects, water, oil, jewelry, etc.
4. General precautions:
• Use battery packs only with IDEX Fire & Safety rescue tools
• Charge battery packs only with the specified IDEX Fire &
Safety battery chargers - Max. charge voltage: 29,0 V.
• After each underwater operation place the battery for at least
48h into a security container or secured area before next use.
• After an underwater operation the battery needs to be dryed
completely before charging. DO NOT use air pressure devices
to clean and dry out the contacts of the battery, as this may result
in damaging the sealings. Place the battery for 48h upside down
(contacts facing down) to dry out the battery.
• Under correct handling and storage the IP68 sealing is defined
with a product life span and IP68 compliance of maximum 4 years.
• Never try to connect the battery with the tool under water.
If this is not possible, as in cases of emergency, please proceed
contacting the battery under water to the tool and contact your
IDEX Service department after the rescue mission for further
assistance and support.
• DO NOT operate the battery beyond the defined limits of the
IP68 definition of the battery.
Always make sure that the battery is placed on the tool before
inmersing into the water.
• Disconnect the battery charger from a vehicle while unattended.
• To avoid overheating batteries, NEVER overcharge your device,
device, unplug when not in use.
• Maintain clean and open vent holes.
• DO NOT store or use the tool and battery pack in locations or
or vehicles where the temperature may reach or exceed 55°C
(131°F).
• Avoid explosive gases, open flames, direct sunlight or excessive
heat – risk of explosion.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance. This appliance can be used by children and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
• Persons who are not able to use the battery in a safe manner,
due to their physical, sensory or mental condition, or due to
their inexperience, must not use the battery charger without the
supervision or instruction from a skilled person.
• Strictly observe the minimum and the maximum charging
temperature. Contact with battery voltage may result in death
or serious injury.
• Make sure that during storage the battery pack is ideally
placed in a stable, and secured position that protects the pack
from unnecessary movements, avoiding contact with other
items or conductive materials, that may cause damages or
short circuits on the pack. If this is not guaranteed please re-
consider storing location of the battery pack or place the
battery in another position, that guarantees a stable and se-
cure position avoiding contact with other equipment and
therefore reducing the risk of any danger of physical damages
or short circuits on the pack.
• Make sure that while the battery is disconnected from the tool
or charger and carried by the tool operator that no conductive
conductive material such as, rings, bracelets, watches or remain-
ing liquids on the skin may come in contact with the positive and
negative pole on the pack, which may cause a short circuit and
burn signs on the skin or generate harmful electric shock for the
tool operator.
:
• Do not place the battery in aprons, pockets, tool boxes, product
kit boxes, drawers, etc...with loose nails, screws, keys, etc.
Transporting batteries can possibly cause fires if the battery
terminals inadvertently come in contact with conductive
materials, such as keys, coins, hand tools, etc...
• When transporting individual batteries, make sure that the
battery terminals are protected and well insulated from materials
that could contact them and cause a short circuit.
