USB / SD-MMC Flash Memory Playback
The device is equipped with a card slot for flash memory cards of the formats SD
and MMC a USB 1.1 connection. You can use this interfaces for playing MP3 and
WMA files.

Connect the USB storage medium with the USB connection or insert a SD or MMC card
with the label side pointing to the rear into the card slot until it clicks into place.

Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "
display.
Ø
The device is now reading the medium. Then the display shows the number of tracks
contained on this medium, the designation of the memory source (USB or SD) and the
file formats found (MP3 or WMA).
Ø
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button in order to start playback. The display then shows the track
number and the elapsed track playing time.
Ø
Further operation is identical with the playback of MP3-CDs, see page 8.
Ø
Stop playback before removing the storage medium. Remove the USB device and/or
push carefully on the memory card until it unlocks with a click. Now you can remove the
card.
Note: Due to the various different formats, specifications and manufacturers of
flash memory media, we cannot guarantee that every storage medium can be
played. It is not possible to play hard disks that are connected to the USB
connection.
Radio operation

Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly until "TUNER" is shown on the display.
Ø
For FM reception you need to pull out the telescope antenna on the rear side of the unit.
Turn the antenna to find the best antenna orientation.
For AM reception the device has a built-in antenna. If AM reception is noisy or distorted,
please turn the unit to find the best orientation.

Press the BAND button in order to select the desired frequency range FM (VHF) or AM
(MW), depending on which frequency range you would like to hear the radio stations.

Select the radio channels with the help of the SKIP/SEARCH — or SKIP/SEARCH +
buttons. Press the + button briefly in order to manually search for radio channels on a
higher frequency than the one currently shown on the display. Press the — button briefly
in order to manually search for radio channels on a lower frequency than the one
currently shown on the display.

When you keep the — or + button pressed for one second, the upward or downward
channel search will start. When a radio channel with sufficient signal strength has been
found, the channel search is stopped and the channel is played.
Ø
During the reception of VHF stereo broadcasts, the indication is lit on the display.
Ø
In case of MONO broadcasts or poor or noisy reception, press the INFO/MO/ST button in
order to switch to mono and thus improve the sound quality.
