2 System Overview

The 3500-ETC is an electronic
controller with a built-in PLC,
designed specifically to control
AMCOL 3500E Powder Coating
Systems. This option allows you to
have the benefit of electronic
timing without the technical
resources or experience.
The 3500-ETC gives you the ability
to quickly and accurately increase
or decrease system cycle settings
at the push of a button, without
needing to reprogram and
configure the press PLC. These
settings are also clearly visible to
confirm that the spray cycle is
correct and consistent.
When the 3500-ETC receives a signal from your machine controls (24V DC or
110V AC), it triggers one cycle of the 3500E. The ETC uses two output signals to
operate the 3500E, and an additional output can be wired to control the dust
collection system. The first output controls the Fluidizing Air Valve. This valve will
be open for a set time during the spray cycle. The second output connects
directly to the Wagner EPG SPRINT controller. This connection closes a contact
between two pins on the controller which operates the spray gun for a set time
and coats the billet. When connected to the ETC, the optional dust collector will
turn on when the Fluidizing Air Valve is on, and will continue for a set amount of
time after spraying to collect any overspray.
When used in combination with a 3500-ETC, a 3500E Powder Coating System
can provide an accurate and repeatable coating in a complete package
without any of the hassle of reprogramming or rewiring to a press PLC.
