Congratulations on your Baron mixer!
Before using your mixer, you must read the instructions carefully.
The mixer is designed to mix various materials used in the construction and building sectors such
as concrete, mortar, lime mortar, wet pour rubber, screed, resin bound aggregates, and other
materials requiring a forced action mixing. Using the mixer for mixing other materials or other uses
may well constitute 'misuse' for which Baron bears no responsibility. If in doubt please contact your
Baron sales agent, supplier, or contact for further advice.
1. Safety instructions
• The forced action mixer may only be connected to installations protected by an HPFI relay
(residual circuit breaker).
• Before using the forced action mixer for the first time at the start of the day, the user must check
the following:
• that the safety switch on the grid lid is intact and in working order,
• that the grid of the lid is intact,
• that the outlet protection has been fitted and that the grid is intact,
• that the main switch is intact.
• Do not move the forced action mixer while the power is on.
• Do not insert tools into a forced action mixer while in operation. Always switch off the motor
before leaving the forced action mixer.
• The forced action mixer is equipped with a safety switch on the lid that stops the motor if the lid
is opened.
• The forced action mixer is equipped with a main switch with an emergency stop.
• A positioning bolt prevents unintentional opening or tipping over of the lid.
• The mixer rotates in a clockwise direction.
WARNING! The forced action mixer rotates during emptying, and it is therefore strictly forbidden
to insert tools through the grid lid or up into the outlet.
2. Use of the forced action mixer
• The lid MUST be closed for the forced action mixer to start.
• The forced action mixer must be placed on a firm, solid ground.
• Before switching on the power, the mixer head must be correctly installed and the metal shovels
correctly adjusted (2-3 mm distance between the container and the shovels).
• Check that the correct voltage is supplied to the forced action mixer.
• Use only approved power cables and plugs.
• After starting the forced action mixer, check that it is rotating in a clockwise direction. Main swit-
ches for three-phase motors have a phase indicator and show the direction of rotation).
• To start the forced action mixer, activate the switch placed underneath the container.
• To empty the container, activate the outlet handle and the container will empty automatically.
• A tight-fitting dust lid is available as an optional extra for situations where there is a risk of dust
inhalation.
3. Cleaning and maintenance
Safety info: Disconnect the forced action mixer from the power supply before cleaning. Never
aim a high-pressure cleaner or water hose directly at the forced action mixer's electrical parts.
• Clean the container and mixer head thoroughly with water and a couple of shovelfuls of gravel.
• Do not hit the container with hard objects such as hammers or the like.
• Inspect the container and mixer head for damage.
• Adjust the metal shovels so the distance between the container and the outer edge of the
shovels is 2-3 mm.
• Baron recommends that you once a week lift off the mixer head and grease (acid-free) the
six-edged drive head
