Adobe® Photoshop® Elements 4.0
Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 CD-ROM is bundled with the scanner. Refer to the Adobe® on-line support pages or User Help in the CO-
RaM for more information. Store the CD-ROM and the case in a safe place.

Insert the Adobe Photoshop Elements CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
• Windows

When the CD-ROM starts automatically, select your language and click [OK].

Read the [License Agreement] carefully, and click [Accept].

Click [Install Adobe Photoshop Elements] to start installation.
• Macintosh
CD
Double-click the CD-ROM icon on the desktop and [Install Adobe Photoshop
Elements] icon in succession.

Read the [Software License Agreement] carefully, and click [Agree].
In the series of dialogs, select or enter the appropriate settings, and click [Next]
(Windows)/[Continue] or [Next] (Macintosh), and so on.
• Macintosh
When a verification dialog appears, input the Administrator's name and password, and
click [OK].
In the [User Information] dialog, you must enter the /lSerial Number/l. The serial number is on
the Photoshop Elements CD-ROM case. Enter the 6 sets of 4 digits.

When the installation is complete, click [Yes] (Windows)/[Restart] (Macintosh) to restart your computer.
Starting Adobe Photoshop Elel11ents
• Windows
Double-click the Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 icon on the desktop.
• Macintosh Double-click [Applications]-[Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0]-[Photoshop Elements 4.0].
Adobe Photoshop Elements will start.
Starting the Scanner Driver

• Windows
Select the name of your scanner with [Import] from the [File] menu in [Editor] mode. Do not select the model name that
includes [WIA] in it.
• Macintosh Select the name of your scanner with [Import] from the [File] menu after closing the [Welcome] screen.
ScanGear will start.
