SnapDragon – Owner's Manua

Issue 1,8
1 Introduction
What is a SNAPDRAGON?
The SNAPDRAGON is a versatile and compact elevating powerchair designed primarily for
the use of pre-school and primary age children. However it is appropriate for any user who
weighs less than 40kgs. If you are an adult of that weight, please forgive us that this
manual has been written mainly for parents and attendants of small children with child
safety in mind. It should, however, contain the information you and your personal
assistants will need to make sure that you make the most of your SnapDragon. As you
and/or your child get to know the SnapDragon, you will come to realise what a powerful
and sophisticated tool it is.
Please note also, that for readability, we refer to the user as "he" , which we use as a
shorthand to refer to both genders, with apologies to female users and parents and carers
of girls!
The SnapDragon supplied to you will have been customised to meet specific needs, and at
the time of supply many of its features will have been demonstrated to you, but it is
important that you read this owner's manual to make sure that you are familiar with all
aspects of its operation. This also applies to any regular care assistants or other adults who
may be in charge of your child while he uses the SnapDragon. In this way you can ensure
that your child's safety and the safety of others will be maximised, and that your child will
get the most benefit possible from the freedom of movement a SnapDragon gives.
You may be reading this manual in printed form, but it will also be available on our website
at www.dragonmobility.com/support/ If those helping to care for your child do not have
access to the Internet, please contact Dragonmobility Ltd on +44 (0) 1223 464460, and we
will be pleased to supply as many printed copies as you need. It is always a good idea, for
instance, to have one at your child's school or playgroup so that new staff can be trained in
handling it from the start.
The web version of this manual will be the most up-to-date, and will contain advice and
information gleaned from customer feedback, as well as straightforward instructions for
use, so it may be worth consulting the web version after a few months for updates.
The copy of the manual on the Internet supercedes all other versions.
If you find that the manual is missing information that you think it should contain, please let
us know.
