The consumption values have been measured in standardised conditions in accordance with the standard IEC/EN 60 456. Consumption values in the home
may vary from those given in the table, depending on water pressure and temperature, load and laundry type. Water and energy consumption apply to the
programmes' basic setting; selecting special options or changing the spin speed or temperature will change the consumptions values.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE THE WASHING CYCLE
1. Load the washing machine, close the drum door and
check that it is closed properly.
2. Pour in the detergent and any additives, as described
overleaf and in the instruction manual.
3. Close the lid.
4. Turn the programme selector to the desired programme
and temperature. The time display shows the duration
of the selected programme (in hours and minutes), and
the indicator for the "Start (Pause)" button flashes. The
indicator for the preset spin speed lights up.
SELECTING THE DESIRED OPTION(S)
You can select or deselect an option at any time while
the programme is running. The option will be applied
provided that the corresponding programme phase
has not yet finished.
Easy-iron
• This function washes your laundry more gently, while
still offering the same washing performance. The spin
speed is slower in order to reduce creasing.
Quick
• For washing in a shorter time, with a washing
performance comparable to that of the standard
programme.
Clean+
• For heavily soiled items.
• For the Cotton and Synthetics programmes, the active
washing duration is prolonged.
• When selecting a temperature from 30 °C to 60 °C,
the washing temperature increases by 4 °C.

Extra rinse
• Additional rinse cycles, depending on the programme,
and prolonged programme duration.
• Recommended use: for particularly sensitive skin and/
or in areas with very soft water.
Stains
• Select this option if you are using an additive for stain
removal (powder) – this optimises the performance
of the additive, for better stain removal and washing
performance.
• Select the temperature 30 °C or 40 °C and, ideally,
use this option with a full load of laundry.
• Pour an appropriate amount of stain remover (powder)
into the Main wash compartment along with the
detergent (only use powder detergent with this option).
Observe the manufacturer's dosing instructions.
• Prolongs the programme by up to 15 minutes.
• Suitable for use with stain removers and oxygen-based
bleaching agents. Chlorine or perborate bleaching
agents must not be used!
Rinse hold
• For delicate fabrics and curtains. The laundry remains
in the last rinsing water. The programme stops for the
"Rinse hold" when the "Rinse hold" indicator flashes;
the "Start (Pause)" indicator flashes as well.
• To drain and spin: Press "Start (Pause)" – the washing
machine will spin at the standard speed for the selected
programme. You can also select another spin speed
by selecting the "Spin" button before you press "Start
(Pause)".
• To drain without spinning the laundry: Select the "Drain"
programme and start it by pressing "Start (Pause)".
Prewash
• For heavily soiled items.
• Pour detergent into Wash compartments I and II.

MEMORY
***
If there is a programme setting which you use regularly, the
appliance offers you the option of saving one setting per
programme so that you can use it again by pressing just
one button.
• Select the desired programme, temperature, spin speed
and option(s). Press and hold the "Memory" button for

at least 3 seconds.
The "Memory" indicator flashes quickly and then lights up
– the programme setting is saved. The next time you would
like to use your individual programme setting, select the
programme, press the "Memory" button and start the
programme by pressing "Start (Pause)". If you want to
replace the saved programme setting with another, proceed
as already described; the saved setting will be replaced by
the new one.
START DELAY
The "Start delay" button allows the user to run the washing
machine at their own discretion, for example at night when
electricity is cheaper.
• Select the programme, spin speed and options.
• Press the "Start delay" button several times to delay the
start by up to 24 hours.
• Start the countdown using "Start (Pause)". The
"Start delay" indicator flashes and goes out when the
programme starts.
• The delay time on the display goes out when the
programme starts and is replaced by the programme's
remaining time.
• After pressing "Start (Pause)", the number of hours
selected can be changed by pressing the "Start delay"
button again.
To delete the start delay:
...before you press the "Start (Pause)" button:
• Turn the programme selector to another position or
press the "Cancel" button.
...after you have pressed the "Start (Pause)" button:
• Press the "Start (Pause)" button – the start delay
indicator disappears from the display.
START OF THE PROGRAMME
Open the water tap and press the "Start (Pause)" button.
The indicator beside the "Start (Pause)" button lights
up. The programme sequence display shows the current
programme phase, running from left to right through Wash,
Rinse and Spin. The display becomes active when the load
is being determined
or when the programme duration is being adjusted.
• Note: If there should be an interruption to the power
supply or if the appliance is switched off during
operation, the programme will continue running at the
same point at which it was interrupted.
"LID OPEN" INDICATOR
Before the start and after the end of a programme, the
indicator lights up to show that the lid can be opened. While
a programme is running, the lid remains closed and must
under no circumstances be opened by force. If you urgently
need to open it while a programme is running, refer to
"CANCELLING AN ACTIVE PROGRAMME".
FAULT INDICATORS
If one of the fault indicators starts to flash, consult the
instruction manual ("Faults and what to do about them").
"Water tap closed":
Insufficient or no supply water.
"Service":
Fault or malfunction in one of the electrical components.
"Clean pump":
The water is not drained.
The "Spin" indicator flashes in the programme
sequence display
: Imbalance during spinning.
END OF THE PROGRAMME
• All indicators in the programme sequence display are
off and the "Lid open" indicator lights up.
• After around 15 minutes, the washing machine switches
off completely in order to save energy.
1. Turn the programme switch to the "Stop" position.
2. Turn off the water tap.
3. Open the lid and drum, and unload the washing
machine.
4. Leave the lid open for a short while so that the inside of
the washing machine can dry.
CHANGING THE PROGRAMME AND/OR OPTIONS
AFTER THE START OF THE PROGRAMME
1. Press the "Start (Pause)" button to stop the
programme. The indicator flashes.
2. Select a new programme, options and another spin
speed, if desired.
3. Press the "Start (Pause)" button again. The new
programme starts at the same point at which the
previous programme was interrupted. Do not add
detergent for this programme.
CANCELLING AN ACTIVE PROGRAMME
The "Cancel" button cancels a programme before it
reaches the end. Press the "Cancel" button for at least 3
seconds. Any water present is drained away; it can take a
while until the lid can be opened.
