CHANGING PUNCHES AND DIES
Disconnect the plug from
W RNING
the power source before
making any assembly, adjustments or
changing accessories. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the tool accidentally.
Insert hex key into die position and turn until
hexagon socket screw (C) is in the center of
the boring of the lower die ring.
Remove the hex key from die position.
Unscrew lower die and hold-down appliance
with stop plate.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Following a few simple tips will reduce wear on
the tool and the chance of injury to the user.
With the tool unplugged from the power supply
and the ON/OFF Switch in the "OFF" position,
become familiar with handling the nibbler and
learning the location of its parts.
Before running the nibbler, inspect the punch
and die for excessive wear, and replace if
necessary.
Do not exceed recommended capacities for
this nibbler. Premature punch and die failure
will occur when the nibbler is under- or over-
gaged.
Never start the nibbler with the punch and die
in contact with the material being cut.
For clean and fast cuts, hold the nibbler so that
the cutting head is at a right angle to the
cutting path, with the body of the tool parallel to
the corrugations. Move the cutting head in and
out of the corrugations, constantly keeping the
head at a right angle to the material being cut.
Feed the nibbler into the work with a minimum
of pressure. Let the nibbler do the work. If the
nibbler doesn't cut correctly, check for a dull
punch or die. Dulling will be apparent as more
pressure is required to feed the nibbler into the
material. Burrs will also show along the cut
edge. A harder material will dull the punch and
die faster than a soft material.
Assembly
Loosen hexagon socket screw (C). Remove
punch downwards. Lubricate new or reground
die well before inserting.
Tighten hexagon socket screws (A), (B) and (C).
Note: The stop plate serves as protection for
the lower die ring and should be replaced in
good time if worn.
The punch may be reground a maximum 1.0
mm. Grinding must be only on the cutting
plane at exactly 90° to the center axis.
NOTE: Regrinding the lower die
The lower die must not be reground.

Operating Instructions

Always direct the cord toward the rear, and
away from the nibbler. Keep it away from
sharp edges.
Secure or clamp small workpieces to be cut to
prevent slippage.
Always use recommended lubricant for the
material being cut. Lack of lubricant will
shorten punch and die life.
SLIDE "ON-OFF" SWITCH WITH LOCK
The tool is switched "ON" by the slide switch
located at the side of the motor housing. The
switch can be locked in the "ON" position, a
convenience for long cutting operations.
TO TURN THE TOOL "ON" without locking it,
slide the switch forward by applying pressure
ONLY at the REAR portion of the button.
When pressure is released the switch button
will snap to "OFF" position.
TO LOCK THE SWITCH "ON", slide the switch
button forward and press "IN" the FRONT
portion.
TO UNLOCK THE SWITCH, simply press and
release the REAR portion of the button.
Switch is spring loaded and will snap back
automatically.
