The Battery Charger

While the battery charger is operating there will still be AC power delivered to the AC OUTPUT.
Cycle of Charge
During the pre-installation set-up of the COMPACT the small slider switch 'Equalize' should have been
set to the OFF position for sealed Gel, or to the ON position for normal lead-acid batteries. The unit has
been factory set to accurately fully recharge and maintain both types of batteries. Due to this closely
monitored charging regime, the COMPACT can be left permanently connected to the batteries without
risk of over-charging. These factory settings suit most battery manufacturers' charging
recommendations however they can be programmed to different values if required. See Programming.
The charger functions are shown in the diagram below.

Warning:- Equalisation mode should never be used with GEL batteries.
When charging Lead-acid batteries the COMPACT unit will automatically introduce an Equalisation
process into its normal 3-stage charging regime during every 25
within the batteries and clean the lead plates. During this phase the 'Equalize' LED 14 is illuminated.
Important:- Charging batteries produce explosive gasses
