You can use your RoomMate
or a portable CD or MP3 player. Just connect the headphone jack (or other variable output)
on your source device to the AUX IN jack on the rear panel of your RoomMate speaker.
The cable used must be fitted with a male 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo plug.
For operating instructions on how to listen to an external audio source while connected to a

®
system, refer to:
• "Listening to your local source" on page 29 for the PERSONAL
or
• "Listening to your local source" on page 32 for the RC18S remote control.
Note: Neither the PERSONAL
audio device connected to the AUX IN jack.
Using an external source without a Bose
When your RoomMate speaker is disconnected from a Bose link network, the AUX IN source
is automatically selected. This means that you can listen to an external audio source without
®
using your PERSONAL
music center II or RC18S remote control. Use the volume control on
your external device to set the volume level of the speaker. You can still use the mute switch
on the front of the speaker to mute the sound at any time.
