BATTERIES
The Scout Series requires three (3) AA batteries.
Acceptable battery types: Alkaline (recommended) or
Rechargeable (1.5V–1.7V)
Mixing of new and used, or different brand batteries
is not recommended as this could lead to leakage or
explosion.
BATTERY INSTALLATION & REPLACEMENT

1.
On the Battery Holder, turn the locking mechanism
to the "Open" position (using a coin or large flat
screwdriver to do this may help).
2.
Pull the Battery Holder away from the Light Body .
In order to overcome the seal you may want to
use a large flat screwdriver to help separate the
Battery Holder from the Light Body , as the seal is
rather tight, especially for the first use.
3.
Install batteries inside the Battery Holder following
polarity markings.
NOTE: Remove the plastic tab from inside the Battery
Holder before use.
4.
Reinsert the Battery Holder into the Light Body .

Turn the Locking Mechanism back to the "Close"
position.
6.
Test the Scout's performance by activating the Power/

FOR P/N 301- 010 & 302- 010:
LOW mode: 1 click, outer 2 LEDs ON
ALL LEDs: 2 clicks, all 10 LEDs ON
FOR P/N 301-004 & 302-004:
RED LEDs ONL Y: 1 click, bottom 4 red LEDs ON
WHITE LEDs ONL Y: 2 clicks, top 6 white LEDs ON
AL TERNATING FLASH mode: 3 clicks, alternating
white & red LEDs
ALL LEDs: 4 clicks, all 10 LEDs ON
FOR P/N 301-312, 301-313, & 301-314:
ALL LEDs: 1 click
NOTE: Once all LEDs are ON, power the Scout OFF by
clicking the Power/Mode Switch once. Then repeat steps
for desired mode.
