OPERATION

Internal Ba�ery

Warning!

The Internal ba�ery pack should only be replaced by an authorized DT Research service

representa�ve. Please contact your product and/or service provider for internal ba�ery

replacement service.

Powering ON and OFF

To ac�vate the DT395CR, push and quickly release the Power Bu�on. The display will

come on in a few seconds. To put the DT395CR in Standby mode, push and quickly release

the Power Bu�on. To turn the DT395CR oﬀ for extended storage, power oﬀ safely using

any so�ware func�on that "shuts down computer" provided in the so�ware opera�ng

system.

NOTE:

The ba�ery pack shipped with your tablet may be low in power—please use the

AC-DC adapter with the DT395CR when se�ng up for the ﬁrst �me to fully charge

the ba�ery pack.

NOTE:

When the ba�ery pack is charging, the Ba�ery LED will be solid orange, and

when fully charged, the light will be oﬀ. If plugging in the AC-DC adapter does not

ini�ate charging, the ba�ery pack may be substan�ally drained. Try unplugging/

replugging the AC-DC adapter to the DT395CR a few �mes to ac�vate the charging

process.

NOTE:

To conserve power, use (push and quick release) the Power Bu�on to put in

"Standby" mode while not in use. Pushing brieﬂy on the same bu�on will wake up

the system within seconds.

NOTE:

Avoid using the Power Bu�on ("hold 4+ seconds" feature) to turn oﬀ the tablet—this

form of hardware shutdown is intended to be a means of recovery from lockups, and

not as normal opera�on.

Start Up

If the power up (from Standby or otherwise) is successful, the appropriate interface will

be displayed a�er a launch sequence of several seconds. The wireless LAN connec�on

may take 10-15 seconds to be established.

Conﬁguring the DT395CR

The tablet may be conﬁgured using the u�li�es and methods dictated by the so�ware

opera�ng system. The DT395CR should be conﬁgurable for various proper�es such as

user proﬁles, network features, and several system elements.

Wireless LAN

The DT395CR is o�en delivered with an embedded (user-inaccessible) 802.11 WLAN

adapter equipped with a hidden custom antenna.

• Through the support of typical WLAN adapters, the DT395CR will detect 802.11

access points in the vicinity for you to select the access point of your choice for

connec�on.

• The SSID and WEP/WPA/WPA2 (if enabled) parameters on the DT395CR and the ac-

cess points have to match. The SSID is case-sensi�ve and it is recommended that you

enable WEP/WPA/WPA2 encryp�on (or advanced alterna�ves) for secure access.

• When WEP/WPA/WPA2 is enabled, you may need to consult your network admin-

istrator or your networking equipment literature to properly conﬁgure associated

se�ngs such as Authen�ca�on mode, etc.

• Refer to the access point opera�ng manuals for se�ng up the 802.11 access points.

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth conﬁgura�on applica�on is enabled from the System Tray or from the

Windows Mobility Center. Follow the instruc�ons and op�ons provided within the

applica�on to conﬁgure and invoke Bluetooth connec�vity with the corresponding

peripherals.
