The obvious fact about the new QMODs is that they look pretty much the same, except for the mix of inputs on
the back. And that's very true – the setup menus and Web pages are almost identical, only the inputs available
are different. That means that, after you install your first QMOD, you know how to handle the rest. Having a
standard, consistent software platform really simplifies things. Simpler yet – there's only one Windows installer
for all models – one program works for all.
Yet variety is good, too, so we have 5 models – Three with dual, identical inputs for SDI, HDMI and Component
– and two with a mix – one with HDMI and a universal RGBHV/Component input, and the other with one SDI
and one Component input. And all have one or more composite Video inputs that double as CC (closed caption)
date inputs as well. By mixing and matching QMODs, you can design solutions that offer four HD inputs in one
rack space, with a flexible mix of SDI, HDMI, RGBHV, and Component, with Video when needed. The 5 models
feature the following inputs:
QMOD-HDMI 1.5
One HDMI and one RGBHV/Component input (a DB15 to Component cable is included)
Two Composite/CC video inputs for encoding, or captioning,
Two analog Stereo and two SPDIF coax audio inputs
QMOD-HDMI 2
Two HDMI inputs (all HDMI sources must be unencrypted for the HDMI 1.5 and HDMI 2 models)
Two Composite/CC video inputs for encoding, or captioning,
Two analog mini Stereo and two RCA SPDIF coax audio inputs
QMOD-SDI 1.5
One SDI (up to 3G) and one Component input,
One Composite/CC video input for encoding or captioning
One RCA analog Stereo and one each SPDIF coax and optical audio inputs
