and wipe with a damp cloth. Dry the rope before
storage. The rope should be allowed to dry
naturally, and not close to fire or other sources
of heat.
The rope should always be transported such
that it is protected from light and dirt and
suitably packed (rope bag).
The rope should only be disinfected with
substances that do not have any effect on the
synthetic materials used.
WARNING /
SAFETY NOTICE:
This product is made of aramide, PES and
Vectran® (CORE.DY) or Dyneema® and
PES (DYNA.MIT). Aramides, Dyneema® and
Vectran® are not UV-stable. Sunlight and
chemicals may attack the material and cause
it to lose in strength. In the event of reactions
such as discoloration, hardening, and the
like, the product must be retired for safety
reasons. Dyneema® must never be exposed
to temperatures above 60°C.
- If you have any doubts as to the safe
condition of the product, it should be replaced
immediately.
- A system that has been exposed to strain in a
fall must be withdrawn from use and returned
to the manufacturer or a specialist repair
workshop for maintenance and inspection
before being used again.
- Snow, ice and humidity can affect the handling
of the rope and its strength.
- High temperatures and chemical substances
(such as acids) must be avoided.
- sharp edges and objects must be avoided.
- Abseil slowly to avoid excess heat developing.
- UV radiation and abrasion have a negative
effect on the rope and its strength.
- Knots in the rope reduce the breaking load
significantly.
