It is the responsibility of the owner and the installer
to determine if additional requirements and/or
standards apply to specific installations.

Electric Safety
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric
shock, do not use this fan with any solid-state
speed control device.
Installer – show the owner the location of the circuit
breaker or fuse. Mark it for easy reference.
Before installing, turn power OFF at the service
panel. Lock service panel to prevent power from
being turned ON accidentally.
WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOC K, OR INJURY TO PERSONS,
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a)
Use this unit only in the manner intended by the
manufacturer. If you have questions, contact
the manufacturer.
b) Before servicing or cleaning unit, switch power
off at service panel and lock the service
disconnecting means to prevent power from
being switched on accidentally. When the
service disconnecting means cannot be locked,
securely fasten a prominent warning device,
such as a tag, to the service panel.
Be sure your appliance is properly installed and
grounded by a qualified technician. Installation,
electrical connections and grounding must comply
with all applicable codes.

Related Equipment Safety
Remove all tape and packaging before using the
appliance. Destroy the packaging after unpacking
the appliance. Never allow children to play with
packaging material.
Never modify or alter the construction of the
appliance. For example, do not remove leveling
legs, panels, wire covers or anti-tip
brackets/screws.
CAUTION: For general ventilating use only. Do not
use to exhaust hazardous or explosive materials and
vapors.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, use only
metal ductwork.
Warning: Appliance may fall over! Do not place
the top part of the ventilation upright on the
floor.
Warning: Do not jam connecting cable during
installation.
Notes on Installation
Combination of the backsplash ventilation with
an electric cooktop is permitted up to a
maximum output of 12 kW.
Combination of the backsplash ventilation with a
Gaggenau gas cooktop is permitted. When
operating a gas cooktop in combination with the
backsplash ventilation, the AA 409-200/230 glass
cover (special accesory to be ordered separately)
must be placed on top of the backsplash.
CAUTION: For installation with gas cooktops, do
not seal the cabinet. A leakage of the ventilator
housing would produce a negative pressure in a
sealed cabinet.
AT 400-730 is suitable for combination with three
Gaggenau Vario 400 appliances. AT 400-700 is
suitable for combination with two Vario 400
appliances or cooktops up to a width of 37
(95 cm).
When installing together with Vario appliances, the
appliance cover (VD 400) needs to be removed.
The frying basket holder cannot be used when
