Starting the watch
Crown in position 1.
a few turns of the crown (in either a clockwise or an anti-clockwise direction)
are enough to start the watch.
It will then automatically wind up when you wear it. please note that the crown
does not lock when winding, even when the watch is fully wound.
Setting the time
pull the crown out to position 2.
the movement is then locked ("stop seconds" function). to enable precise time-
setting to the nearest second, stop the seconds hand at 60.
Move the hands forward clockwise to the desired time and, on the hour signal,
push the crown back to position 1.
the watch starts running again.
operating the chronograph
the central seconds hand on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph
displays the chronograph seconds to the nearest quarter of a second. a counter

located at 3 o'clock tallies the minutes up to 30 minutes (after 1 revolution it will start
counting another 30 minutes). another counter at 9 o'clock tallies the hours up to
12 hours (after one revolution it will start counting another 12 hours).
- push-piece at 2 o'clock: this push-piece starts and stops the chronograph
function.
- push-piece at 4 o'clock: this push-piece resets the counters and the central
seconds hand. When timing is in progress, pressing this push-piece has no ef-
fect.
timing
- the chronograph is activated by pressing the push-piece at 2 o'clock once.
the central seconds hand will turn, and the minute and hour counters will
run. pressing the push-piece at 2 o'clock again will stop the chronograph,
enabling the time measurement to be read.
- reset by pressing the push-piece at 4 o'clock to be ready to perform another
time measurement.
- It is possible to add up several time measurements by pressing again on the
push-piece at 2 o'clock (without having to reset the counters). timing is re-
started, and is added to the previous measurement.
Chronograph status indicator
the disc indicates the the chronograph's status:
- White: the chronograph is at zero and is ready for use.
- White/red: the chronograph is in operation.
- red: the chronograph has been stopped to take a reading (and has not been
reset to zero).
