Cleaning
─
Before using this product for the first
time, wash it by hand and dry carefully.
─
Clean the pan after use by washing by
hand in water using a brush. If you wash
the pan while it is still warm it will be
easier to clean. Wipe dry carefully after
cleaning.
How to use the fondue pot
─
The fondue pot can be used for
cooking e.g. meat, fish, vegetables or
mushrooms in oil, broth or red wine.
Never fill the pot more than up to two
thirds with liquid.
─
The liquid in the pot (1) can either be
preheated on a cooker or heated directly
over the burner. If you use oil and want
to make sure that it has the correct
temperature, test by dipping a piece
of bread or of the food to be cooked in
the oil. If a sizzle is heard, the oil is hot
enough.
─
Fill the burner with fuel (denatured
alcohol). Or use solid alcohol
(combustible pastes) for fondue pots.
If you use liquid fuel, pour it into the
fuel container (2), which is then placed
in the outer container (3). If you use
solid alcohol, place it directly in the
outer container. Then there is no need
to use the fuel container. Never overfill
the burner, to avoid spilling fuel that can
catch fire.
─
Fit the damper (4) on to the outer
container. Using the handle on the
damper the air supply to the burner,
and consequently also the flame, is
regulated.
─
Place the burner in the stand (5) and
light it. Take care! The flame of a lighter
or a match can ignite fumes rising from
the burner.
─
Carefully place the pot on the stand.
Use pot holders if the pot has been
preheated on a cooker.
─
Cook the ingredients of your choice
(e.g. meat or vegetables). Put in a small
amount of food at a time. If you put
in too much the cooking time will be
prolonged.
─
Extinguish the flame from the burner by
smothering with the burner lid (6).
Important!
─
If the oil catches fire, smother with a lid
or a blanket. Never try to extinguish the
flame with water!
─
Do not fill up the burner with fuel while
it is warm. Wait until it is cool enough to
be lifted up by hand.
─
Always place the fondue set on a non-
combustible surface, e.g. a metal tray.
─
Keep a strict watch over the burner
during use.
