Operating Instructions
Turn unit on:
1. Measure with sound alarm
Press the power button. The meter sounds a single beep and the tip is
illuminated green. The tester is now ON and is operational. Test on
known live circuit to verify tester functionality.
2. Measure without sound alarm
Hold down the power button for 3 seconds. The tip is illuminated green
with no beeping sound. The tester is now ON and is operational. Test
on known live circuit to verify tester functionality.
Turn unit off:
Press the power button. The meter sounds a double beep and the tips
green LED turns off. The tester is now OFF and is not operational.
System self-test:
The "power on" Beeper & green LED visually confirms battery sufficiency,
system integrity, and at operation/active mode. Always test on known live
circuits to verify tester functionality prior to use.
Checking for the presence of AC voltage:
Prior to use, test on known live circuits to verify tester functionality. Place
tip of the tester near an AC voltage. If the tester detects voltage, the LED
in the tip of the tester changes colour from green to red and an beeping
sound is generated. The audible sound beeps quicker when the tester tip
is closer to higher voltage.
Low battery indication:
Scenario 1
Power on the tester: The "power on" LED in the tip of the tester changes
from a steady green to a blinking green and a series of beeping sounds is
generated. The tester then turns off. The unit is now OFF and the
batteries need to be replaced. To replace the tester batteries refer to the
maintenance section titled "Battery Replacement."
