Berndes Besser Use And Care Instructions Manual
Instructions for use and care of enamelled cookware:
Congratulations on purchasing a BERNDES quality product. We hope you enjoy
cooking with your new cookware for a long time. During manufacturing, our
cookware is checked at regular intervals in test labs to ensure you buy quality
products that do not pose any risk to health.
To ensure you enjoy your product for as long as possible, we have compiled a list of
important tips and instructions on how to care for your BERNDES product.
1. General instructions for the use of your BERNDES product:
• Rinse before first use to remove any dust and particles could have picked up
during production and packaging.
• Heat the cookware slowly using medium heat, and once it is hot, reduce the
heat to low for duration of cooking.
• Do not heat the cookware for long periods when it is empty. When using
induction cookers, the cookware heats up rapidly, therefore never heat the
cookware when it is empty and always use a medium heat setting!
• May be used in the oven up to temperatures of 260 °C (500 °F).
• To keep your high-quality cookware in good condition, avoid using sharp
or pointed objects such as knives or forks. While normal traces of use (light
scratching) do not affect the functioning of the cookware, we still recommend
you use kitchen utensils made of wood or plastic.
• Never slide the cookware as this may cause damage the base or your hob.
• Cast handles and lid knob are completely oven-safe. Because of the good heat
conductivity, always handle hot cookware with pan holders or oven gloves.
Otherwise there is a risk of burns!
• Although cast iron is extremely durable, it may break or enamel coating chip if
dropped or knocked on a hard surface.
4
• Always stand hot pans on trivets or appropriate boards, never directly on
unprotected work tops or surfaces.
2. Cleaning and storage of your BERNDES product:
• Leave the cookware to cool slightly before washing in hot soapy water. Do not
plunge still hot cast iron cookware into cold water.
• Stubborn marks can be eased off with a washing-up brush, do not use metal
tools or metal cleaning pads as this may scratch the enamel surface.
• Always dry the cast iron cookware thoroughly before storing away, otherwise
rust marks may appear.
• Rub cooking oil on the cookware and lid rim to protect the edges.
3. Warranty
All BERNDES products are subjected to the most stringent quality testing during
manufacturing process. As manufacterer we grant a voluntary manufacterer's
warranty of 8 years. Please refer to your cookware packaging for detailed information.
If you should have cause for complaint within this period, you can take the product
to you local dealer together with you receipt or send it with a coverint letter to the

The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper use. This includes e.g.
overheating, aluminium oxidation, scratches, damage from beeing dropped or
