2) FX
FX feature enables mixing the sound delivered over ASIO driver and the sound played through
WDM audio driver on Windows® simultaneously. The main difference between 'Stereo Mix' and
'FX' is in the involvement of ASIO applications. With FX feature, you can get a true "what you hear
is what you get" recording.
Suppose you are using amp-simulator software with VST Plug-in through Rock Pro.
Also, you are about to record with Windows® recording software and played accompaniment
sound or session audio (i.e. MP3 audio) as well.
(1) FX Off
If FX is turned off, even though you are using an amp-simulator with VST Plug-In, only your
dry guitar tone will be recorded without the VST effect.
(2) FX On
Once the FX feature is turned on, Rock Pro allows you to record your wet guitar sound with
the ASIO effects applied. FX feature can also be combined with 'Stereo Mix' seen in the
previous chapter, which results a true "What U Hear" capability.
