Squeaking, Grinding and/or Clicking Noises

•

Squeaks (idle rolls, torque limiter), clicks (clutch, feed belt), and

intermittent grinding noises (transport drive 1st mesh, clutch) have

could be objectionable to a customer.

•

To resolve the issue, do the following:

–

Squeaking Noise – add dry lubricant to idle rolls

–

Clicking Noise – clutch will click against its rotational stop every time it engages,

feed belt assembly will click against outer guide, both are normal

–

Grinding Noise – deskew clutch can make a grinding noise if parts are out of spec

or it is damaged (replace clutch); grinding noise can also occur if the transport

drive bracket studs are damaged (replace transport drive)
