5.1.2 Tightening and loosening
Models alkitronic® EFCip-R / EFCip-SG
The output drive of the alkitronic® EFCip-R and/or
EFCip-SG takes place via a fixed width across flat
(AF). For the reduction to smaller spanner open-
ings an alkitronic
operating use alkitronic® accessories only!
When using alkitronic® EFCip-R models the re-
action pin (4) must be put completely into the
receiving device. Otherwise there is a danger of
case breakage and a risk of serious personal injury.

Operating steps
• Always place alkitronic® EFCip-R / EFCip-SG completely
on the bolt/nut.
• A sure, stable counter-mount (Fig. 1/1)/(Fig. 2/2) must be
ensured.
• Always note during the bolting process:
- keep the alkitronic® EFCip-R multiplier in a 90 degrees
angle to the bolt (Fig. 1).
- keep the alkitronic® EFCip-SG multiplier in parallel line
to the bolt (Fig. 2).
• Push power switch and start bolting process.
• The drive stops when achieving the desired torque or
value. Switch off machine and place on next bolt/nut.
If the torque multiplier is not removable of the
bolted joint (torsional forces caused):
• EFCip-R/-SG models: Press rocker switch above (rotation
direction CCW) shortly.
This measures leading to a "run free" of the reaction
absorber.
• Place on next joint and start bolting process .
Safety tips while pulling together plate packages in heat
exchangers:
Do not reach between end frame and reaction
pin or gearing box (Fig. 3, page 12). Grasp torque
multiplier only at the handle.
In case of non-observance of above serious per-
sonal injuries can occur (e.g. bruises).
