Chapter 2 Installation and Connection

2.1 Installation and connection

This section explains how to install/remove this product from the chassis, and how to

connect it to the Server Blade.

This section explains how to install this product in the chassis.

Installing this product can be performed in the same way as the Server Blade.

For details, refer to "4.2 Installing Server Blades/Storage Blades" in "PRIMERGY BX600 S3 Blade

Server System Unit Hardware Guide".

This product can be installed or removed while the chassis main power is on.

Use ServerView console V4.61.05 (planned) or later to display this product information.

When installing this product in the chassis, install it in the slot to the right of the Server Blade to

which it is connected. Not doing so may cause problems, for example the power may not turn on.

When adding this product to a pre-installed chassis, a Management Blade firmware or Server Blade

BIOS may be required to be updated. For information about combination of firmware and BIOS,

refer to the following website to download and update an appropriate firmware or BIOS. If an

appropriate firmware or BIOS is not applied, this product may not operate properly.
