Safety

For safe use of this product, it is vital that the following warnings are heeded.

■ Product failure

• In the event of heat, smoke, or a strange smell being emitted from this product, immediately turn the

Server Blade off and unplug the chassis power cable from the power source, and contact an office

listed in the "Contact Information" of the "Start Guide". Using this product without repairing it can

cause an electric shock or fire. Do not try to repair this product yourself.

• If a foreign object (water, pieces of metal, liquid etc.) falls into this product, immediately turn the

Server Blade off and unplug the chassis power cable from the power source, and contact an office

listed in the "Contact Information" of the "Start Guide".

Not doing so may cause an electric shock or fire. Extreme care should be taken in households with

young children.

■ Handling this product

• Do not rebuild this product yourself. Doing so may cause an electric shock or fire.

• Do not insert or drop anything, such as metals or flammable item, into any openings (air holes etc.)

on this product. Doing so may cause a product failure, fire, or electric shock.

• Do not place metal objects or containers containing water, such as vases, flowerpots, or drinking

glasses, on or near this product. Doing so may cause a product failure, fire, or electric shock.

• Avoid placing this product in locations subject to oil vapors, excessive humidity, direct sunlight, heat,

or dust, or having poor ventilation, or in areas where strong magnetic fields are generated. Storage or

use of this product in such areas may cause a product failure, fire, or electric shock.

• Do not pour water into this product. Doing so may cause a product failure, fire, or electric shock.

• Do not use this product in an area near water such as bath room or shower room. Doing so may

cause a product failure, fire, or electric shock.

• If electrical storms are occurring nearby, unplug the chassis power cable and other cables. Not doing

so can cause this product to be damaged by lightning and cause a fire.

• Do not cover the openings (air holes etc.) on this product. Doing so can cause overheating and fire.

• Do not place anything heavy on top of this product. Also, do not severely jar this product. Doing so

may cause this product to fall and result in injury.

• Do not place this product on a slanted or unstable surface or in areas subject to severe vibration.

• Do not store this product without its original packaging.

Also, avoid storing this product in locations subject to excessive humidity, direct sunlight, or heat

(heating device, etc.).

• This product is easily affected by static electricity. Be careful to handle this product.

Touch a metal part of the chassis to discharge static electricity before using this product.
