Hold the system cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.

Hold the air shroud at both ends and lift the air shroud out of the system.
NOTE: The air shroud for the dual processor system can be discarded.
NOTE: If you have a dual processor 3UPI system, remove the two 3UPI cables from the system
board and discard. If you have a dual processor 1UPI system, then there will be no UPI cables to
remove.
NOTE: If the NVMe drives are installed, then you will have to remove and discard the dual
processor NVMe cables and replace them with new NVMe cables. After installing the PEM, the
NVMe extender cards must be removed from the system board PCIe slots and installed in the
expansion card riser PCIe slots.
5.
Connect the five cables associated with UPI (four 4UPI cables and one clock cable), provided in the kit to the
connectors on the system board. For more information, refer to the System Information Label (SIL) for cabling.
6.
Hold the Processor Expansion Module (PEM) power board by the edges and insert the PEM power board into
the connector on the system board.
