a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Network to display the Network Settings page.
b. Edit the general settings to suit customer needs and click Apply.
6. Define network access modes and ports:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Network to display the Network Settings page.
b. Select the required access modes, enter the associated port numbers, and click Apply.
7. Disable the serial terminal access mode:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Network to display the Network Settings page.
b. Deselect the Enable Serial Terminal Access box and click Apply.
8. Disable the setup protocol mode:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Network to display the Network Settings page.
b. Select the Disable Setup Protocol box and click Apply.
9. Disable the Ethernet port reset mode:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Network to display the Network settings page.
b. Select the Inhibit the PHY Reset of the shared Ethernet Controller box and click Apply.
10. Click the Logout button to stop the SHC.
11. Start the SHC:
a. Launch the web browser and enter the standard or secure IP address or host name of the primary module, according to
the settings. The Authentication page opens.
b. Complete the Username and Password fields and click Log On. The System Control page opens.
12. Set the management controller's internal clock:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Date-Time to display the Date/Time page.
b. If required, change the Time Zone value and select or clear the Adjust for daylight savings time check box.
c. Click either User Specified Time or Synchronize with NTP Server, complete the appropriate fields and click Apply.
d. Use the bsmBMCcfg.sh -a backup utility, provided in the Resource and Documentation ISO file, to back up System,
PEF, and Configuration data if required.

Setting up alert transmission
Non-IPMI events are recorded in the board and security messages log and IPMI events are recorded in the System Event Log
(SEL). These events can be reported as alerts to SNMP managers and email recipients.
When you set up alert transmission for the first time, you need to:
● Configure the SNMP server for non-IPMI events.
● Configure the SNMP and SMTP servers for IPMI events.
Configure SNMP manager servers for non-IPMI events
Steps
1. Define the message destination:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Messages to display the SNMP Messages and Syslog
Configuration page.
b. As required, select the SNMP Logging Enabled box and complete the Destination IP, Port number, and Community
fields.
c. As required, select the Enable Syslog Forwarding box and complete the IP Address field.
d. Click Apply.
2. Download the SNMP MIB file:
a. From the Configuration tab, click BMC Settings > Messages to display the SNMP Messages and Syslog
Configuration page.
b. Click the Download SNMP MIB File link.
3. Upload the SNMP MIB file to the SNMP manager server or servers:
