Locate the service tag
Your PowerVault MD2460 enclosure is identified by a unique Express Service Tag.
The Express Service Tag is found on the bottom-right perforated surface on the front of the chassis. The QRL code on the
service tag contains information unique to your system. Use a smart phone or tablet to scan the QRL code to get immediate
access to your system information. System information is used to route support calls to appropriate personnel.
Hardware overview
A PowerVault MD2460 enclosure consists of various hardware components such as hard disk drives, Enclosure Management
Modules (EMMs), and Power Supply Units (PSUs). Some of the modules within the enclosure are replaceable, as described in
Replacing
components.
You can attach a single host system to access the data on the enclosure. You can also establish multiple I/O paths between the
host system and the enclosures. Using multiple paths prevents data access issues in case of any failures.
An enclosure can hold up to 60 dual-ported 3.5-inch hard disk drives which can be accessed from the top after removing the
system cover.
Front panel features and indicators
The enclosure front panel has an Express Service Tag and three LEDs on the bottom-right corner as shown in the following
