Installation
~
If the control cable needs to be
extended by more than the length of
the extension cable supplied,
equipotential bonding must be carried
out. There is a connection point on the
external motor, marked with the earth
symbol - , to which the earth lead
must be attached.
~
All ducting, pipework and fittings
must be of non-flammable material.
These can be obtained from the Miele
Spare Parts department or from
builders' merchants.
~
The appliance must not be
connected to a chimney or vent flue
which is in use. Neither should it be
connected to ducting which ventilates
rooms with fireplaces.
~
N.B. AWG 102:
The external motor must be installed
vertically on the outside wall. The
extraction outlet must face downwards.
~
N.B. for ABLG 202:
If exhaust air is to be extracted into a
chimney or ventilation duct no longer
used for other purposes, seek
professional advice.
~
N.B. DDG 102, DDF 125/150:
The motor and the roof vent kit are
designed to be installed on tiled,
pantiled, slate or shingle roofs; the
slope of the roof must be at least 22°.
Installation on a flat roof is not possible.
Installation must be carried out by a
competent person.
Warning and Safety instructions
~
When choosing a suitable
installation location, make sure that it is
easily accessible and that installation
work can be carried out without danger.
This is also important if the appliance
needs to be serviced.
Disposing of your old
appliance
~
Before discarding an old appliance,
switch off and disconnect the control
cable from the cooker hood. Cut off the
cable directly behind the appliance to
prevent misuse. Cut off and render any
plug useless.
This should be done by a competent
person.
The manufacturer cannot be held
liable for damage caused by
non-compliance with these Warning
and Safety instructions.
