Upgrading Windows Server 2008 Foundation to Windows Server 2008
Standard
Microsoft supports upgrading Windows Server 2008 Foundation to Windows Server 2008 Standard.
Microsoft does not support upgrades from the following OSs to Windows Server 2008 Foundation:
• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2000
• Windows Server 2003
The following restrictions apply to upgrades:
• Cross-architecture (for example, x86 to x64) and cross-language upgrades are not supported.
• There are no supported upgrade paths for Windows Server 2008 Foundation to Itanium-Based
Systems edition or Windows Web Server 2008 edition.
• Cross-language upgrades are not supported.
