Miele CS 1223 Operating And Installation Instructions
Warning and safety instructions
~
If the power cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by a qualified
electrician with a special power cord
(type H 05 VV-F, PVC insulated), which
is available from Miele or from
Technical Service.
~
The wok is not intended for use with
an external timer or a remote control
system.
~
Do not connect the wok to the power
supply by a power bar or an extension
cord, as they do not ensure the
required safety of the appliance
(danger of overheating, for example).
~
Do not use the induction wok if the
ceramic surface is cracked, chipped or
damaged in any way. Turn it off imme-
diately. Disconnect it from the power
supply. If you fail to follow these steps,
there is the danger of electric shock!
~
If the plug is removed from the
power cord to hardwire the wok, it must
be installed and connected by a
qualified electrician. This should be
performed by a qualified electrician in
compliance with all local and national
codes, and requirements. Miele will not
be held liable for damages resulting
from improper installation or
connection.

Correct use
~
Only for individuals with a
pacemaker:
Please note that an electromagnetic
field is generated in the immediate
vicinity of the wok when it is on. It is
unlikely that this will affect a
pacemaker.
However, if in doubt consult the
manufacturer of the pacemaker or your
doctor.
~
Keep magnetized items, e.g. credit
cards, computer disks, calculators, etc.
away from the wok while in operation.
This may impair their function.
~
Use only the wok pan supplied. For
safety reasons other wok pans should
not be used - fire hazard.
See chapter "Induction - Suitable pans".
~
The wok is hot during use and
remains so for some time after being
turned off. There is a risk of burning
until the residual heat indicator has
switched off.
~
Do not leave the wok unattended
while it is in use.
A wok pan that has boiled dry can
cause damage to the ceramic surface
for which Miele cannot be held liable.
Overheated oil or fat could ignite and
spark a fire.
~
If hot fat or oil catches fire, NEVER
use water to douse the flames. Instead,
use a pot lid, wet dishtowel, or similar
item to smother the fire.
