Using the griddle plate
The griddle plate is equipped with a
thermostat that maintains an even
temperature.
The griddle plate must first be "burned
in" to prevent food from sticking to it
(see "Before using for the first time -
Burning in the griddle plate").
The griddle plate can be freely set
between (minimum power) and
(maximum power).
With hobs using LP gas a buzzing
sound can be heard during the
heating-up phase. This is completely
harmless.
Switching on the griddle plate
Push the rotary control for the griddle
plate in and turn it anti-clockwise to
the small flame symbol .
If the burner has not ignited, turn the
rotary control to the (Off) position.
Ventilate the room or wait for at least
1 minute before trying again.
If the burner does not not ignite on
the second attempt, turn the rotary
control to the (Off) position and see
"Problem solving guide".
Heat the griddle plate for approx.
20 minutes.
Set the power level you want.

Tips
Clean the griddle plate before every
use with a damp cloth to remove
dust particles or other residues.
– Heat the griddle plate thoroughly for
approx. 20 minutes at maximum
power. Then select the setting you
wish to cook with.
– Pat moist food dry with kitchen roll to
avoid splashes.
– Salt meat only after cooking to
prevent it drying out.
– Very little fat is required for cooking
on the griddle plate and no fat is
required for marinated food. If you are
using fat, do not put it onto the
griddle plate until the griddle plate is
hot.
– Use only fats and oils that can
withstand high temperatures.
Rapeseed oil, coconut oil and lard are
all suitable.
– Add sprigs of herbs, such as
rosemary or thyme to the griddle
plate for extra aroma.
