Commissioning
This charger version uses a IUIa charging characteristic adjusted
to 24 V (12 cells) gel batteries of Exide-Sonnenschein with a C5
capacity in the area of 50 ... 76 Ah. It must not be used for char-
ging other batteries.
WARNING: The use of a wrong characteristic can lead to explo-
sion of the battery during charging!
1. Connecting external LEDs
If connecting external LEDs use a cable min. 1.5 m. For shorter cables
(< 1.5 m) use a ferrite bead (Würth Elektronik, order code 742 700 31).
2. Connecting the battery
Before the battery is connected to the charger, please make sure that the
charger has been disconnected from the supply network. Connect the battery
with a good contact to terminals and ensure that the polarity is correct.
3. Connection to the supply network
Connect the charger to the supply network.
Attention: The connection to the supply network must be carried out in accor-
dance with the national installation regulations. In the case of the supply ca-
ble being damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, the customer
service or a specialist in order to avoid dangers.
The charging process will start automatically, if:
– the battery is connected with correct polarity
– a battery with a nominal voltage of 24 V is connected
– the battery is not charged completely
– the monitored temperatures are within the admissible area
If the charging process cannot be started, an error will be displayed.
> See chapter «Troubleshooting».
4. End of the charging process
The battery must not be separated from the charger while the LED is illumi-
nated.

Troubleshooting
Three types of errors can be distinguished:
1. Errors before the charging process has been started
The charging process cannot be started due to an error. Please separate the
charger from the supply network and check the following points:
– Is the battery connected with a good contact to terminals and has
the correct polarity been ensured?
– Are the battery cables and all plugs firmly secured?
– Are there any defects at the battery or the cables?
Please reconnect the charger to the mains supply network after correction of
the above-mentioned points. In the case of another error (No LED is illumina-
ted), please contact the customer service!
2. Errors during charging process
The charging process has been canceled. There are many reasons for this.
Please separate the charger from the supply network and check the following
points:
– Has the charger been constantly connected to the supply network?
– Has the mains cable been inserted with a good contact to terminals?
– Are the battery cables and all plugs firmly secured?
– Has a permitted battery been connected?
– Are there any defects at the battery or the cables?
Please reconnect the charger to the mains supply network after correction of
the above-mentioned points. In the case of another error (No LED is illumina-
ted), please contact the customer service!
3. Critical errors
Disconnect the device from the mains, wait for at least 5 minutes and
reconnect to the mains. If the error remains please contact the customer
service.
