AAC
■
AAC is a compression method to downsize music data.

Back Up/Restore HDD
Backing up recording data on HDD to the computer or NAS in case
the recording data is lost due to HDD malfunction on this unit.

Communication technology to connect electronic devices wirelessly.

Convert/Analyse
The operation to compress the track recorded to this unit is referred to
as "Convert". The operation to register information to manage tracks,
such as Music Shuffle is referred to as "Analyse". Convert/Analyse is
normally performed when the unit is in standby mode.

Gracenote
Database
■
Database to search for CD title information, etc. Approx. 350,000
album titles information has been registered on this unit.
Import from PC
■
Importing data stored on the PC to this unit's HDD via LAN. You can
import WMA, MP3 and AAC (MPEG4) music data to this unit.

You changed the user name after the PC user name was created. Return the user name to
the original name.
You used special characters for the user name or password. Only alphanumeric characters
and symbols (4 types) can be used. If different types of user name/password are used,
change to the above characters.
Check the connection and settings for the router and this unit.
Finish the virus search or security check software once.
You used Panasonic AV amplifier, etc. at the same time. The remote control signals may
interfere each other. Change the remote control mode.
The remote control settings do not match the unit settings. Switch the remote control modes

with "Changing the remote control mode".
A nonstandard disc was inserted. Switch to the disc compliant with the standard.
There was extreme temperature difference, such as when carrying the unit from the cold place
to the warm place. Dew condensation might have occurred on the lens. Wait approx. 1 hour
before use.
If the track format is SCMS, the track will be skipped.
Performing "Maintenance of HDD Info" may improve the situation.
Use the USB cable supplied with the iPod to directly connect to the unit.
The data is being backed up or restored, or the recording data is being moved. Backing up or
restoring data, or moving recording data may take some time.
Press [8] on the unit approx. 10 seconds and restart the unit.
You are trying to Divide/Combine tracks recorded in AAC format or WMA/MP3 tracks imported
from the computer. Only tracks recorded in LPCM format can be divided/combined.
The Sleep timer does not work when importing music data from the computer, backing up/
restoring or moving recording data on HDD.
LPCM
■
This is one of the methods to convert to digital sounds without
compressing audio signals.
MP3
■
Audio compression standard called MPEG Audio Layer-3. This
technology is used for importing music data to a PC.
Playlist
■
Group of tracks collected under a certain condition. For example,
"Album playlist" is a group of tracks that were recorded from music
CDs and collected album by album.
■
WMA
Audio compression technology developed by Microsoft. The data is
compressed with the sound quality close to commercially available
music CDs.
Zapping
■
The highlight part of each track is played 20 second. You can listen to
tracks one after another to search for the desired track.
