Siemens 3AH Instructions, Installation, Operation, Maintenance

Introduction and Safety

Introduction

The 3AH family of vacuum circuit breakers is designed to
meet all the applicable ANSI, NEMA and IEEE standards.
Successful application and operation of this equipment
depends as much upon proper installation and mainte-
nance by the user as it does upon the careful design and
fabrication by Siemens.
The purpose of this Instruction Manual is to assist the user
in developing safe and efficient procedures for the instal-
lation, maintenance and use of the equipment.
NOTE: IEEE Standards Requirements for Conversion of
Power Switchgear Equipment (C37.59); Siemens has de-
veloped instruction manual for particular replacement
breaker drawout vehicles, consult factory.
Contact the nearest Siemens representative if any addi-
tional information is desired.

In addition to other procedures described in this manual
as dangerous, user personnel must adhere to the follow-
ing:
1. Always work on de-energized equipment. Always de-
energize a breaker, and remove it from the switchgear
before performing any tests, maintenance or repair.
